Project: Slow.

A Group Project.

This project is a speculative Design project the premise for the project responds to satics like “1.2 Trillion photos were taken in 2017, 85% of these were on smart-phones.”

We wanted to slow down the photo taking process on a smart-phone, to encourage people to take less mindless photos.

In this video (below) we demonstrate our concept of introducing a fix number of photos a indivula can take on their phone and the more

photos you take the more the quality of the photo will start to deteriorate. We adapted the design Apples Iphone shutter Icon, to act like a timer and scale for the blurriness of photos. The ring in the video has been sped up, but once it runs out, it takes a full 12hours to refill, and restore the clear focus on the camera. So you only get a few clear photos a day, before the quality diminishes. In the video the person in question can be seen taking photos of a cup of coffee to demonstrate the pointless photos people take on a daily basis.
